Designing a Custom Glass Chair Mat

If you've been on our site, you already know that Vitrazza stocks 12 popular sizes of Glass Chair Mats. And for 70-80% of our customers, those sizes work well and are a great value. But others want/need something custom designed for their workspace. And we can do that too! A Vitrazza Specialist can assist you by phone or email, and together we'll develop a design that meets your needs and fits your budget.

Here's how the process typically goes. Many customers will take initial measurements themselves, come up with a shape and then email that information to us. It could be just a written description or a simple sketch. We'll then draw it up in our CAD program, develop a detailed quote and email both of those back. We might also recommend a couple of changes to help with design/cost. At that point, the customer can decide or even make revisions.

If a customer really doesn't know where to start, they can call to ask questions and we can begin the design process together. We even invite customers to email us a photo of their desk area, so we can see for ourselves what could work best. We actually have 3 custom designs already prepared that are commonly used with L-shape desks - we  just change the size to match up with the customer's space. So, the custom design process is pretty simple - remember we do this everyday and see the same desk configurations over and over!

Here are answers to common questions about custom orders:

  • Turnaround time is generally 7-12 days.
  • Polished edges are still included.
  • Yes we can and do ship, even oversize units.
  • Max size is 80" x 110"
  • Regarding price: If the design is far off one of our stock sizes, it's generally worth paying the price premium. If, on the other hand, it's very close to a stock unit, the price difference can be hard to justify.
